Our Story

The two LJs JeepinLaurie Jean Gebhard and Lorrie Jean Castellano have been friends for over 20 years. During that time, lots of ideas have come and gone… and come and gone… and come and gone. During the stagnant winter of 2010 however, the idea of creating our own convenient salsa and dip seasoning packets evolved. Starting with the basic Boot Scootin’ salsa recipe, the creative “spices” started to flow. A new twist on this, a pinch of that, all mixed with common ingredients found in grocery stores everywhere, created salsas and dips that were not only flavorful but healthy as well. We searched for suppliers dealing with only the freshest spices and flavorings… and absolutely no MSG! We strive to use only natural products with no unnecessary fillers, and are always allowing those creative “spices” to flow as we create new and tasty recipes.

We initially launched our business and introduced our products at the Yellowstone Valley Farmer’s Market in Billings, Montana during the summer of 2011. We had no idea what to expect or how much inventory to show up with. To our delight, however, our salsa and dip seasoning mixes were a hit! Samples were provided and packages flew from our bins, selling out of many varieties! Thanks to the Good Earth Market, we were able to secure a weekly booth each Saturday morning. Customers returned with high praise and deeper pockets, as they bought more selections for themselves as well as family and friends. The first season concluded, and we began exploring our options for growth.

Since that time, we started selling our products through local grocers and gift shops, as well as offering online sales through this website. We’ve updated our branding and have added grilling rubs to our product line. Currently, we’re working on a plan to enable us to distribute to a wider network of Montana and Wyoming stores.
